About Me

Aileen Ganding Call, M.A.,

Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

AMFT #134974

(She/Her/Hers)

Supervisor: Galina Litvin LMFT#111344

I am an associate marriage and family therapist at the Institute of Mindful Therapy (IMT) based in Walnut Creek, CA. My goal is to create a non-judgmental, supportive, nurturing, and safe environment where you can explore your strengths and obstacles and challenge your old stories. My work is attuned to each individual, couple or family’s needs, personality and circumstances. I meet you where you are and let you be you. In the process we may even have some fun and laugh a little. I like to slow it all down, take it at your pace, and work together as a team.

As a first generation Filipino American, I understand many of struggles that immigrants and children of immigrants deal with toggling two cultures. I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a cousin, and a niece. Since childhood, family has always been big part of my identity.

After a seasoned career in finance, I made a leap to follow my passion of helping others in the mental health space and attained a degree counseling. I chose therapy because I deeply believe in the work, growth and positive change that can happen when we take time to learn about ourselves and how we see ourselves, in our relationships, in our cultures and society. Therapy has played an important role in my own life, so much that I felt a calling to become a therapist.

When I'm not in session, I am busy raising my two teens, taking an Orange Theory Class (I need adult supervision for exercise! LOL), subbing a yoga class or hanging out with my husband of 23 years. As a family we enjoy spending time with extended family or spending time at the beach.

My Approach

My approach is integrative and unique to each client, their identities, culture, and experiences. The goal is to create a space where the client feels seen, heard, and understood while we navigate and explore what you are going through. Some of the approaches I use and integrate but not limited to include: client centered/existential, relational, mindfulness, IFS,  attachment (EFT), strength based, EMDR therapy, and narrative therapy. Most importantly, building rapport and creating safety for my clients.
And a little humor here and there for good measure.... ;)
