I am an associate marriage and family therapist at the Institute of Mindful Therapy (IMT) based in Walnut Creek, CA. My goal is to create a non-judgmental, supportive, nurturing, and safe environment where you can explore your strengths and obstacles and challenge your old stories. My work is attuned to each individual, couple or family’s needs, personality and circumstances. I meet you where you are and let you be you. In the process we may even have some fun and laugh a little. I like to slow it all down, take it at your pace, and work together as a team.
I graduated from Palo Alto University with an MA in Counseling. I am also a 500 hr certified yoga instructor. I teach vinyasa, meditation, and prenatal yoga.
As a first generation Filipino American, I understand many of struggles that immigrants and children of immigrants while deal with toggling two cultures. I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a cousin, and a niece. Since childhood, family has always been big part of my identity.
After a seasoned career in finance, I made a leap to follow my passion of helping others in the mental health space and attained a degree counseling. I chose therapy because I deeply believe in the work, growth and positive change that can happen when we take time to learn about ourselves and how we see ourselves, in our relationships and in the world.
My approach is integrative and unique to each client, their identities, culture, and experiences. The goal is to create a space where the client feels seen, heard, and understood. Some of the approaches I use but not limited to include: client centered, trauma informed, relational, mindfulness, attachment (EFT), strength based, and narrative therapy.
